7.3 Review
Following municipal elections, every four years, the regional planning committee shall convene to assess whether there is a need to review or update the regional plan.
This decision should consider whether, for example, national planning policy, regional development plans, or other strategies necessitate a review of the regional plan. Additionally, the strategy of the regional plan should be directed towards the national government as applicable. Furthermore, the committee should consider whether underlying conditions, such as economic or social factors, have changed and whether the implementation of the regional plan has proceeded as intended.
The procedure for a revised plan will follow the same steps as creating a new regional plan, as outlined in the planning laws. If the committee concludes that the regional plan does not require a review, it will remain in effect. The committee must notify the National Planning Agency of its decision on whether the regional plan needs to be reviewed or not.
Regardless of whether changes are made to the regional plan, the regional development plan and other action and development plans of municipalities and their support institutions should be regularly reviewed and updated to achieve the objectives of the regional plan.
